FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the Holy Cross Greek Food Festival?

Now in its 46th year, Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church’s food festival is one of the great Greek food festivals of Pittsburgh. Located in the heart of Mt. Lebanon, the festival evokes the sights, sounds, and tastes that define the traditional Greek way of life with hand-prepared Greek delicacies, live music and traditional folk dancing, and shopping in our marketplace.  For almost half a century, the Greek food festival has shared the traditional Greek way of life while providing an important fundraiser for our church.

When is it?

The Holy Cross Greek Food Festival is typically held the second week of June. Check back for the 2019 dates.

Where are you located?

You’ve probably noticed the white church on the hill with the gold dome if you’re traveling south on Rt19 from downtown Mt. Lebanon. Our church is located near the intersection of Washington Rd (Route 19) and Gilkeson Road, at 123 Gilkeson Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15228, directly across the street from the Galleria in Mt. Lebanon.

Where can I park?

We have limited parking available in our church parking lot in the upper lot, although that tends to fill up quickly. We also have a lower lot next to our community center, but that lot is reserved for handicap parking and online order and takeout pickup.

Parking is also available across the street at the Galleria, and a FREE shuttle will run 5PM-9PM every night. The shuttle stops at the Galleria entrance facing the church, next to Starbucks.

Is there a fee to enter the festival?

Never! It’s always free to look around and enjoy the music, dancing, and marketplace.

Do you accept credit cards?

We accept cash and most major credit cards at all registers at the festival.

Is the festival handicap accessible?

We have reserved handicap parking available in our lower lot. To access this lot, drive up the main entry road and make the first left. From there, we have an elevator that will take you up to the main dining area.

Do you offer take-out?

Yes! You can always enter the main food line in the community center, and our volunteers will be happy to pack up your food. You can also choose from a limited menu from our online Pick-Up menu and we’ll deliver your food curbside.

Can I phone an order in?

While we do take phone orders, we encourage you to order your food using our convenient online ordering system. You can access the online ordering system by clicking here.

Will you have online ordering this year?

YES! Online ordering is our convenient way to order your food on our website, and then pick up your food without leaving your car. Click here to order online, then choose a pickup time. Our volunteer will then bring your food right to your car.

Where do I pickup my online order?

After you make your online purchase, make sure you print out your receipt or have your phone ready with confirmation of your purchase. When you arrive at the church, let the officer on Gilkeson Rd know you’re picking up an online order, and then proceed to the pickup lot, which is the first left as you come up the hill to the church. Once in the lot, head to the circle, and a volunteer will greet you to get your order.

Is the full menu available when ordering online?

While we try to have everything the festival has to offer available for ordering online, we do limit the menu slightly. Check out the online menu here, or see the full menu available at the festival here.

Can I tour the church?

Yes, there will be church tours hourly during regular festival hours. Meet in the narthex, which is the main lobby area when you walk through the church doors.
